Now that you are engaged, your mind is constantly racing, incessantly thinking about things you need to take care of before the wedding. In your mental checklist, you have wedding gown, flowers, entourage, reception venue, wedding music, favors, invitations, and so many other things.

But apart from all these things, of course, one important thing you want for your special day is for you to look beautiful and dazzling. Every bride certainly wishes to look perfect on her wedding day.

Every bride also knows that looking beautiful goes beyond choosing the right wedding gown, wearing spectacular jewelry or picking an elegant pair of shoes. Looking beautiful means being fit and in shape. To ensure that you will dazzle everyone on your big day, here are seven ways on how to get in shape before the wedding.

1. Set realistic goals.

Some women who are engaged imagine that they would be as thin as fashion supermodels on their wedding day. This is all right if you think this is a realistic goal for you. Before you engage in any fitness program or activity, it is necessary to set realistic goals that you know you will be able to achieve with the right exercise and diet.

2. Start early.

One important thing to keep in mind if you intend to lose weight for your big day is that you should start early. It is not healthy or wise to attempt to lose 35 pounds in 3 months. What you should do is to plan and start early so that you can tone down the healthy way.

3. Include exercise in your daily routine.

Exercise should not only be confined to gyms or aerobics classes. In fact, incorporating exercise into your daily life is a good way to get in shape for your wedding day. Exercising at home and in the neighborhood can be as simple as doing some squats before taking a bath, walking around the block instead of driving, or biking around the village.

In your office, try taking the stairs instead of the elevator (unless you are already late for work!), jog in place during break time or offer to run errands for your boss, which would require walking a few blocks.

Now during your free time like after work or on weekends, you can enroll in a gym and have a structured program of exercise that will surely help you become fit and fabulous in time for your wedding day.

4. Have a healthy diet.

A healthy diet means intake of proper proportion of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that your body needs to stay on top condition. If you want to lose weight, do not skip meals; instead have more fruits and vegetables in your diet.

Choose lean meats, avoid fried foods, eat more salad (skip the high calorie dressing), and add whole grains to your diet. Also, do not forget to drink at least eight glasses of water each day because this is great for your skin and body.

5. Do a fitness activity with your spouse-to-be.

This will not only ensure that you get in shape for your wedding but will also be a good way to bond with your sweetheart. Choose an activity that you both enjoy to make the bonding experience a worthwhile one.

6. Do not undergo radical diets or fitness programs.

Diet pills, drastic diet methods, fasting, and over-exercising are not healthy ways to lose weight or get in shape. Consult a dietician or fitness expert if you want to have a proper and sensible diet or fitness program.

7. Have enough sleep.

Even if you look slim and sexy but if stress is all over your face, you will still not look good. Make sure you get plenty of eye shut before the big day arrives.

If you are committed and driven to look your best in your wedding day, getting shape will not be too difficult. Just keep your goals in mind and you would surely be able to wow your groom and your guests during your special day.
