Hot Invitation Designs for Your Destination Wedding

beachweddinginvitationThe word is out, you are getting married this (or next) year. Family and friends cannot help but show their excitement and happiness for you. After you and your partner have announced your engagement, you have been bombarded with calls of greetings and good wishes. Some of them even ask about your wedding plans.

Wedding plans, hmm, you think for a minute, you have not exactly absorbed fully yet what was going on around you. You tell them that wedding plans are on their way but are not yet finalized. In your mind, you have all sorts of things going around—what gown to wear, how many bridesmaids to choose, what food to serve in the reception and so on.

You sit down for a minute and you tell your mind to stop. Before you plan all these things, you have one thing that you want to settle first, the venue of the wedding! And you know that the perfect kind of wedding that you have always wanted all your life is a destination wedding. Once your partner happily agrees about this, you proceed to the next thing in line and that is the invitation.

Then you ask yourself, “How do I make an invitation for a destination wedding?” The best way to answer this is to first determine where you intend to hold your destination wedding. Destination weddings used to be associated with Las Vegas but these days, they can be anywhere like Paris, Mexico, Hawaii, India, Bahamas, Africa, Maldives, Italy, Rome, Philippines, or wherever your heart desires.

Once you are able to make that decision with your future spouse, it would be much easier to think about the design of your wedding invitation. The key here is to include in the design any element that would be descriptive of the venue where you are holding the wedding. The simplest example of that would be seashell designs for a beach wedding. Here are some other hot ideas you can consider:

  • Las Vegas

Love is a gamble, so they say. But because you hit the jackpot in your love life, exchanging vows in Las Vegas can be fun and exciting. A Las Vegas wedding invitation can be a piece of playing card, preferably the ace of hearts. It can also be a slot machine shaped invitation with bright designs, a scenic view of the city that never sleeps, or a pair of dice with a heart in between.

  • Paris

Ahh, the romantic city of Paris! Bring the whole family and friends to this sweet Parisian getaway but first, send an ecru colored invitation with a cutout design of the Eiffel Tower in the cover. Do not forget to add subtle swirls and French terms of endearment such as “mon amour” (“my love”) written with French style script font.

  • Bahamas, Hawaii or Any Tropical Island or Beach Resort

Some of the popular embellishments for beach themed weddings are shells, starfish, and leaves. But you can also be unique and different by using prints of birds of paradise, hibiscus, palm trees, or a photograph of a scenic beach.

  • Wine Country

Wedding invitations for a wine country wedding can be designed with luscious grapes and wine bottles with color options such as green, purple or maroon. Do not forget to add in the wording a phrase that goes something like, “celebrate and toast to the love of…”

Getting married is one of the most momentous occasions in your life and holding it in a place that you dream of can make it extra special. Just make sure you send out your splendid invitations ahead of time so that all the important people in your life can be there to witness this significant event.
